Lyn's Lunch

Mei-Lien was sitting on a small patch of grass near some woods. The young Chinese-American woman didn’t particularly like her given name though; she liked to go by “Lyn.” Today, she was on a trip to the warehouse and corporate offices of a business with some other students from her college. It was a lovely day outside, so she decided to have her lunch outside. It wasn’t just to enjoy the lovely weather; it also was to get away from others.

It became pretty evident to Lyn that she was terribly over-dressed for the occasion. She was wearing a black business suit with a skirt that fell to her knees. On her legs she wore black pantyhose and her shoes were black stiletto pumps with a 4-inch heel. However, her peers were dressed much more casually and teased her about how dressed up she got. She could also feel the leers she got from the workers as they got a tour of the warehouse. She was enjoying her lunch without anyone around to make her feel self-conscious about her attire.

Lyn had heard about the two women who had gone missing inexplicably from this side of town, but the attractive Asian woman was blissfully unaware of how near she was to where the disappearances had occurred. On the other side of the woods she was sitting at the edge of was the neighborhood where they had occurred. She laid back on her elbows and closed her eyes for a few moments.

She had taken off her shoes and they were neatly laid beside her. She didn’t notice the birds had fallen silent as the massive snake that had been responsible for the disappearances was slithering towards her from behind. The snake prepared to lunge at the oblivious black-haired woman.

Lyn had now idea what had actually happened, but she suddenly was enveloped down to her waist. Her skirt slowly rode up as she started kicking frantically and writhing around as much as she could. She screamed, but they were muffled to the outside world inside the snake. She still couldn’t comprehend what was happening to her. She felt herself being pulled deeper into the unknown monster.

Slowly her nylon encased thighs disappeared into the monstrous snake. She fought as hard as she could, but found her movements restricted inside the beast that was eating her. Once her knees were inside the snake’s mouth all the helpless young woman could do was wiggle her feet and toes and she did so frantically. She still couldn’t wrap her head around what was happening to her. Nothing lived around that area naturally that would eat people, especially whole.

Suddenly, all the dots connected in her mind and she knew she was being eaten like the other two missing women. Some animal or monster was eating people. Screamed loudly as she could and struggled hard as she could inside the snake, but the sound couldn’t be heard by the outside world and she could only flex her ankles and toes as they were swallowed by the snake.

She knew she couldn’t move, but she continued to try. She screamed and tried to struggle as she felt herself getting fainter and fainter. Soon the pretty young woman suffocated inside the snake as she was starting to be digested. Slowly the snake slithered away and back into the woods.

Michael saw the large headline as soon as he looked at his morning paper and knew he was the only one who could explain what really happened to woman. He read on:

Third Mysterious Disapperance on East Side

Mei-Lein “Lyn” Chang, a 22 year old student, disappeared yesterday outside of a business park. It is the third time a woman has disappeared from the area in recent weeks.

Police were baffled at the scene, which was eerily similar to the previous two.

“It was a though she was plucked out of thin air as she was eating lunch,” said a police spokesman.

All that was found at the scene were her two high-heel shoes neatly placed and her unfinished lunch. There were no signs of a struggle at the scene.

Chang is a straight-A student and just weeks away from graduating from college. Her parents pleaded for their daughter’s safe return and information on what may have happened to her.

Police combed the area yesterday and search efforts will intensify today. They will be looking for witness and checking security tapes to see if they can find anything. However, it does seem that the local police are baffled.

Officially the police department is classifying these disappearances as likely kidnappings. However, an anonymous police source says the police are beginning to wonder what the actual cause is.

“We’re beginning to wonder if this isn’t supernatural,” said the source, “I’ve heard officers and detectives with all kinds of wacky theories. Some say it’s aliens, some say it’s the CIA. We just don’t have a [expletive] clue where or how these girls vanished.”

Michael unfolded the newspaper to see more stories below the fold about the missing woman. He scanned the pages looking to see if they told what she was wearing so he could better picture the scene in his mind. His remorse wasn’t about what had happened to the girl, but that he had not been able to see it. He found the description of her clothing, closed his eyes and imagined the pretty young Asian being swallowed by that massive snake.
